In a circular economy approach, heterogeneous wastes can be upgraded to energy in the form of syngas via pyrogasification, and then methane biomethanation. Working at high pressure is promising approach intensify process reduce gas–liquid transfer limitations. However, raising could lead reaching CO inhibition threshold microorganisms involved syngas-biomethanation. To investigate impact on process, 10L continuous stirred tank reactor working 4 bars 55 °C was implemented. Syngas (40% CO, 40% H2, 20% CO2) biomethanation performed successfully productivity as 6.8 mmolCH4/Lreactor/h with almost full conversion (97%) H2 (98%) achieved. investigated carboxydotrophs appeared less resistant exposition than methanogens.
